Services

Psychiatric care grounded in compassion and rooted in social justice.

Well Rooted Psychiatry offers affirming psychiatric evaluation, medication management, diagnostic assessment, recovery-informed care, and clinical documentation support for adults who have too often been misunderstood, dismissed, over-pathologized, or reduced to symptoms.

Care is collaborative and clinically grounded, with attention to depression, anxiety, mood concerns, trauma, neurodivergence, substance use, recovery, burnout, diagnostic uncertainty, and the systems that shape mental health.

Care for more than symptoms alone

Many people come to psychiatric care with more than one concern. Depression and anxiety. Trauma and substance use. Mood changes and diagnostic uncertainty. Neurodivergence and burnout. Years of being told one thing while sensing there is more to understand.

At Well Rooted Psychiatry, treatment begins with careful assessment and honest conversation. Medication may be part of care, but it is not the whole of care. Together, we consider symptoms, history, identity, trauma, sleep, substance use, medical factors, relationships, environment, and lived experience.

The goal is not to make you smaller, simpler, or easier to categorize. The goal is to build care that is clinically thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in the reality of your life.

Symptoms have context

Distress is not always evidence of underlying pathology. Symptoms can be understandable responses to trauma, chronic stress, oppression, disconnection, unmet needs, unsafe systems, or years of having to survive circumstances that were never sustainable.

Diagnosis and medication can be useful tools, but they never erase the complexity, dignity, or humanity of the person in front of me.

and so do you…
